I Have Available: Old Photographs To Swap. Interested In The Period From 1500 To 1930. The house I live in was built in the 1930,s on the site of the old court house where in past times people were tried and where poachers and their dogs were hung and buried. I feel we do have friendly ghosts and occasional old bones do surface in the garden. During the english civil war Bloody Judge Jefferies toured this area holding his bloody assizes. I am trying to piece together the history of the court and the site which was also said to have been inhabited by monks of glastonbury who farmed here and there is a reference on the ordance survey map of a place called court farm. The romans were also abundant in this area in times past. Recently I had an oil painting done for me , taken from an old photo of the court house.
