Pastplaces Privacy StatementData Protection Notice Module 5 Design Limited, who own the PastPlaces website has formulated this privacy policy to highlight our dedication to maintaining the integrity and security of our valued members private information. This policy constitutes a legal document, which should be read in conjunction with the PastPlaces Website Terms And Conditions, of which this document forms part. Please read this document with care. This document expresses our approach to complying with relevant data protection laws. Any changes to this policy will be posted on this webpage. PASTPLACES INFORMATION GATHERING AND TRACKING When you register for the PastPlaces you provide your name, a fully functioning email address, which is used as your username. Your personal details will not be divulged, rented out or sold to any third party Membership is obtained by filling in the registration form on the PastPlaces website. We ask you for a valid email address, your full name and ask you to select a password to access the members section of the site. When registering, there are a number of options you can select: You can choose to receive the PastPlaces Newsletter by email about any changes or additions to the Pastplaces service. You can choose to receive an email notification every time another member of PastPlaces sends a message to your members page, relating to the places that you have added to the database. These options can be changed by members via a link on their Main Members page. This can be done at any time. The PastPlaces site currently makes uses of cookies. PastPlaces does not make your full name or you your email address available to any member or visitor to our site. Members can however choose to make their details available to other members by four main legitimate means: 1) Pastplaces full members can in the course of sending and receiving messages, choose to reveal their details to one or more members. 2) Pastplaces full members can also allows access to a section which permits members to fill in a form field with any personal information that they wish to communicate and elect to make the details available to the general public. 3) Pastplaces full members can add details to the pastplaces forums. 4) Full members can reveal name and contact information in their own Public Membership Pages PastPlaces will from time to time, incorporate Internet advertising from other companies into the PastPlaces website. PastPlaces can provide anonymised demographic information provided by Members to these companies in order to target any such advertising effectively. For purposes described in this policy, Module 5 Design Limited has the option to share data supplied by members, or supplemental demographic information acquired by us, with other companies in our group. If all any or all of the assets of which PastPlaces forms a part are acquired by another company or any third party, we may transfer personal data we then hold to that company or third party. The personal information held by Module 5 Design Limited And the PastPlaces website is stored on and processed by computers that are situated in the United Kingdom. For security, we use username and password protection for members information. Transactions involving financial information and data are exclusively processed using third party secure servers. Customer information on our database is secured internally by PastPlaces and by our Internet service provider. Members are responsible for ensuring against the use of the PastPlaces service, by anyone other than the member by the use of a members username and password. Members are required to keep their password secure from others and to log off from the PastPlaces website at the end of each session. Members can have their details removed from PastPlaces at any time. This can be done by contacting pastplaces with your email address and membership number. We also make provision for members to opt-out of receiving our e-mailed newsletters, offers from partners or third parties and email notification of members messages, which members have previously opted to receive. This opt-out can be achieved by following the appropriate link on the Members Main Page after loging on to the PastPlaces System. Module 5 Design Limited will comply with any legally made request by third parties for the disclosure of members personal information. PastPlaces may log your IP address. This is to assists us in site administration and when tracing any problems with our servers. PastPlaces will make use of any outside party to supplement your information, should your demographic details be incomplete. The directory data on this site has been added by members and on occasion corrected or amended by by the PastPlaces system administrators in order to comply with legal obligations or the PastPlaces Terms and Conditions Agreement. This membership information is generally collected by use of the PastPlaces online data collection forms, or by direct entry onto our database with the express written permission of prospective or existing members. Whilst every effort has been made by Module 5 Design Limited to ensure the accuracy of the published information,Module 5 Design Limited does not guarantee or warrant the accuracy, reliability or legality of any of the information provided.
